Canon Selphy CP510

January 14th, 2006

I was talking today with a friend about my new Canon SELPHY CP510 Compact Photo Printer which I got myself for Christmas along with a Canon Powershot A620 7MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom. We were looking at computer stuff today and I was comparing mine to an Epson. I thought mine cost 58 cents per copy, but I noticed it is 28 cents, 58 is the number of seconds it takes to make a print. I found the Canon Kp108ip Color Ink & Paper Set on sale which brings the cost to below 25 cents per photo. This is much nicer than the 30 cents per photo of the Epson.

Must Have TiVo

January 7th, 2006

Series 3 Tivo Annouced at CES

I must get me one of these when they ship. I have serious issues with the TWC HDTV DVR. My poor Tivo Series 2 is still used for all non HDTV programming on non-digital cable.

Are they shipping yet?

Are they shipping yet?

This gives Cat Calling a whole new meaning

January 2nd, 2006

It would appear that a man had trained his cat to call 911 in an emergency.

My cats hate it when I am on the phone, I doubt they would want to use it themselves.

December 17th, 2005

We hear and see a lot about outsourcing these days. If you are in the IT field you are especially aware of this. What can we do about it?

For one, you can make yourself valuable so that you remain in demand. A friend of mine, Chad Fowler wrote a book, My Job Went to India : 52 Ways to Save Your Job that can help.

If you want to hear Chad talking about this, click here.

You can also listen to him on the Ruby on Rails podcast.

He also gave a radio inteview in Boston that you can listen to here.
